Academics Overview

At Doodle Academy the individual approach already starts on the first day! Our team of coaches has extensive experience and assesses the individual needs of each child very well. They pay close attention not to overwhelm the child. At the same time they offer more advanced lessons when the child is ready.

Every child should have the opportunity to adjust very gently to the new environment. This could sometimes take up to several weeks.

Doodle Academy Coaches exude contagious intellectual energy, demonstrate authentic interest in the life of the mind that extends beyond their core subject areas, and model genuine respect for students and one another.

Through their actions and interactions, our Coaches cultivate students’ spirit of wanting to know in every setting—the classroom, the library, the Hallway, the Dining Hall, the playground or the Sports Field.

Curriculum Overview

Our dedicated curriculum team has created our own original phonic program, complete with original characters to help children with their first steps towards literacy. We also have a detailed Sight Words and Reading Program. These complementary programs help us maintain the confidence that our students will graduate with stronger literacy skills than other students within the same group.

Our curriculum also includes French lessons. For years it was thought that teaching foreign language to children as young as three years was futile. Research findings, on the contrary indicate quite the opposite. There are incredible psychological benefits of learning another language.

These benefits extend way beyond being able to order a cup of tea abroad. Longitudinal studies by Harvard University confirm that learning additional languages increases critical thinking skills, creativity and flexibility of the mind in young children. Pupils who learn a foreign language outscore their non-foreign language peers in verbal and maths standardized tests, indicating that learning additional language is a cognitive activity not just a linguistic one. The brain, like any muscle, functions better with exercise. Learning a language involves memorizing rules and vocabulary, which helps strengthen that mental muscle.

In addition to our excellent original program, we also run integrated extra curriculum programs. This curriculum allows children to learn in a hands-on way, through practical experiments, creative arts & crafts, music & dance, Mc Doodle Chefs & PE.
